Bio
Alt-indie pop artist Jessica Woodlee is always getting lost and writing songs about it. With a bold approach to pop, she combines modern pop lyricism and synths with hints of classic blues-and-rock-infused instrumentation to create a fresh yet familiar sound that’s all her own. Pulling influences from Maggie Rogers, Maisie Peters and Taylor Swift, she channels her high emotional sensitivity and life experiences into catchy hooks, unique metaphors and storytelling.
Jessica has built a reputation as a compelling live performer, blending high-energy pop moments with intimate acoustic storytelling that quickly wins over new audiences. She has performed extensively throughout the Northeast and beyond, appearing at venues including Mercury Lounge NYC and Brighton Music Hall. Recent highlights include performing at the acclaimed We Found New Music showcase and opening for artists such as Christopher (1.8M+ Spotify monthly listeners), Meg Smith (175K+ monthly listeners), Luna Luna (125K+ monthly listeners), Annie O'Malley, Sophie Said, and Kat Kennedy.
Beyond the stage, Jessica has cultivated a dedicated and steadily growing fanbase through her monthly "Pen Pals", where she sends handwritten postcards to listeners around the country. Combined with her commitment to releasing a new song every month, the initiative has helped foster a highly engaged community that actively supports her music online and at shows.
Jessica has garnered over 15k+ followers across social media and her music is consistently played on college radio, local radio, internet radio and syndicated radio leading her to give interviews and performances on many local and college radio shows. Her honest lyrics, jotted in her notes app on the train, have caught the ear of many listeners. Abby Kenna, at Indie Spoonful remarks that “Her melodies are the image of pop perfection, immediately getting stuck in your head from the first listen[...]” and Jess was named one of Atwood Magazine’s “50 Artists to Watch in 2023”. With relatable songwriting, memorable hooks, and an audience eager to sing every word back, Jessica Woodlee brings both heart and momentum to every lineup she joins.
