Bio

Alt-indie pop artist Jessica Woodlee is always getting lost and writing songs about it. With a bold approach to pop, she combines modern pop lyricism and synths with hints of classic blues-and-rock-infused instrumentation to create a fresh yet familiar sound that’s all her own. Pulling influences from Maggie Rogers, Maisie Peters and Taylor Swift, she channels her high emotional sensitivity and life experiences into catchy hooks, unique metaphors and storytelling.

Jessica is all about that fan connection. Her live shows are filled with big sing-along choruses, intimate acoustic moments, and personal anecdotes about mishaps along the way to each stage. First conquering an audience in local coffee shops, Jessica has consistently played venues in the northeast, becoming an integral part of the underground college scene today. She recently opened for Christopher for a sold out show at the Brighton Music Hall, a go-to 500 cap venue for touring artists. Jessica also opened for the rising pop artist from LA, Annie Omalley, at the iconic Mercury Lounge NYC and again in Boston on her album release tour.

Through consistent releases, live shows and putting her stickers on countless street signs, Jessica has garnered over 15k+ followers across social media and 10.7k monthly listeners on Spotify. Her music is consistently played on college radio, local radio, internet radio and syndicated radio leading her to give interviews and performances on many local and college radio shows including; Post Adolescence Glow, WICB, Bostunes,WCRX Simmons College Radio and WJDQ to name a few. Her honest lyrics, jotted in her notes app on the train, have caught the ear of many listeners. Abby Kenna, at Indie Spoonful remarks that “Her melodies are the image of pop perfection, immediately getting stuck in your head from the first listen. Even the rhythms of her lyrics are a hook within themselves, their cyclical flow mesmerizing[...]” Named one of Atwood Magazine’s “50 Artists to Watch in 2023” it’s clear Jessica has only just begun to take the world by storm.

A childhood of listening to the greats like Carole King, Hendrix, Clapton and Ella largely inspired her debut EP “Karma” released in 2017. As Jessica matured, she’s come to experience the highs and lows of the young adult experience. Her songs, such as “Whiskey” and “T.O.M.L.”, center on the realities of growing up, societal expectations, falling in love and mental health. Jessica cemented this era of her life with a 13 song LP titled “JESS” in August 2024. Indie Boulevard remarked that “JESS” “[...] shifts styles and moods as effortlessly as a chameleon changes color, reflecting the ever-changing desires and events in the lives of twenty-somethings. This fleetingness, this search for self and place in the world, is beautifully captured in every track [...]”.

Jessica is now hard at work writing and recording new music. Get ready to scream the lyrics together by following Jessica on social media and wherever you stream music.
